Industrial Revolution Activities 1 and 2

The difference between Thursday's and Friday's activities was that Thursday mimicked cottage industry and Fridays mimicked factory work during the industrial revolution. The definition of cottage industry is a small scale business that produces very few finely crafted goods. This is what we did on Thursday. We took time and a lot of effort to produce one finely crafted paper doll. On the other hand, Friday was more like industrialization because we made far more paper dolls with far less craftsmanship on an assembly line. This meant that we could mass produce them but at the cost of decreased quality. You could see this because of the significant difference in quality. This is how the activities showed cottage industry and industrialization.
